Storm update
Aug. 30th, 2005 08:58 am1. Woke up at ten till 6 looked outside at rain. Went to pee. Went back to bed.
2. Mom woke me up as she left for work at 7. She said to go ahead and put the dog out.
3. Got up a few minutes before 8 and went to fix dog pen. Medium rain.
4. Took dog out. Medium rain turned torrental in about 3 seconds. Shy barely had time to do her business before we both looked at each other and said "fuck this" and came back inside.
5. Tried to dry off dog. Gave up after about a minute of playing tug of war with excited pet.
6. Went to finish shower that I had started outside.
7. Is 8:52AM right now. House smells likeass wet dog.
8. Flood watch is in effect for my county. As I live on top of the mountain, I'm not worried much about myself, but mom's school is near a river. The news just said the High School is closed for some reason. Oh dear, it appears that there was a school bus wreck in Hendersonville due to the rain. Two kids were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
I will likely update this post as the day progresses to keep from spamming. I hope everyone else is safe. *sends love*
ETA: 12:43PM Rain has slacked off, I think the worst is over. Dog is outside in her pen now though she wasn't very happy about it. I don't know why because it has a nice roof over it and is dry. Silly thing. So far, I've only lost the satellite once because of heavy rain. I haven't heard from mom, which means everything is probably all right.
