Someone nominated If I Knew Then... for round seven of the Fang Fetish awards! Thanks so much. It was really unexpected and a plesant surprise when I came back from vacation.

I've been back since Thursday, but I've been playing catch up and resting so I haven't had time to post. It's sad that you need a vacation to rest from your vacation. I didn't even go anywhere but home. I did get to see the 40's new paint job. It's going to look great once we get it all finished. I'm so glad that I have tomorrow off, I'm tired! I'm thinking about going to the movies and just basically doing nothing.

I need to get some writing done. I have a plan for the last chapter of If I Knew Then... but I just haven't had time to sit down and write the darn thing. Hopefully, I'll be able to do that tomorrow or Wed.

Now for some Doctor Who squee....

3.10: Blink
Blink was an awesome episode. After The Lazarus Experiment, they showed the coming soon with Jack and all the stuff that's happening now and I was really excited. But then they came back from the break and showed 42 which wasn't the best episode. I was kind of disappointed, but Human Nature and Family of Blood made up for it in the OMG the Doctor's human! factor. I never realized that they'd play that out later, but I'm getting ahead of myself...

I love Time Travel stories where they actually use the time travel as a plot device like in Blink. It was cool having an episode where the Doctor is hardly in it, but it's his and the angels' time travel that sparks the whole thing. The weeping angels were really creepy and I loved when Larry turned away from the angel and you just knew shit was going to happen and when he turned back it was right on top of him with the scary face. CREEPY! I loved that we were trying to figure things out right along with Sally. Nothing makes sense at first, but then things slowly start to piece together...and then the great loop back in the end when you realize that Sally started the whole thing, by giving everything to the Doctor. I just love his reaction to her too. His whole, "This happens to me all the time" routine where people come up to him who he doesn't know because he hasn't met them yet was priceless.

3.11: Utopia
Holy Shit! They've brought back The Master! I hadn't spoiled myself, so I didn't see that coming. First of all, they got Derek Jacobi as Professor Yana, which was great. He's a really good Shakespearian actor who does a lot of BBC work. You might remember him from Gosford Park if you caught the flick. Anyway, I thought he did a great job. And the fob watch and the reveal were awesome. I've been waiting for this since the Face of Bo revealed that the Doctor wasn't alone, but I didn't even fathom that they meant that the other Time Lord was going to be the Master. Good surprise and the way they blended it in with the Human Nature story was also a nice touch. I was excited to see John Simm in the previews after The Lazurus Experiment, but I had no idea he'd be playing the new Master. I'm a huge Life on Mars fan, so it's going to be a lot of fun watching Sam be a bad guy.

All the stuff with the Doctor and can't-die-Jack was pretty cool. I love that the Doctor saw him and ran away. I was really embarrassed for Jack clinging to the outside of the TARDIS because that was kind of pathetic. I don't think the Doctor doesn't like Jack because of what he is now, but because now that Jack can't die, he'd be a companion that could stay with the Doctor forever. That scares him, because mostly he doesn't have to worry about getting attached. They're only human and he can always pick up another. But a companion that can go the long haul? I think it's interesting and I'm wondering what they're going to do about it. We know that Jack's going back to Torchwood simply because they're shooting a new series (season) right now, but what about the Doctor?

I can't wait for the final two episodes. I really hope that they do bring the show back again despite the rumors I heard that this is the last season that Russell T. Davies says he's doing. The show is always entertaining and well written.
